I am submitting a photo of my mother and I.
Why did your family come to the United States? My mother came to the U.S, from Bethlehem, to provide a life for my siblings and I, different from her own. She wanted my sister and I to be able to seek higher education, to maintain a career, and live our fullest lives. It was important for her to raise daughters who modeled in the footsteps of revolutionaries like Angela Davis, who unapologetically spoke out against the injustices of the world.
What would the U.S. be missing out on if you or your people were banned? The U.S would be missing out on one of Palestine's first feminists, born and bred during the 1960s and 70s.
