My dad was drafted for the Vietnam War as a new immigrant at the age of 18, not knowing he had inadvertently been conscripted as a result of applying for permanent residence.

Why did your family come to the United States? My father came to the United States with my grandparents to seek better opportunities after leaving Ireland and working on oil rigs throughout Alberta. They came to Springfield, MA to reunite with family and friends and provide better schooling for their sons.

What would the U.S. be missing out on if you or your people were banned? Someone who freely gives of his sweat and labor to his neighbors, a tireless worker and a who instilled a relentless, warrior style confidence in his daughter. Oh, most importantly, a killer ska dancer at weddings.
