My grandma came to the United States for the American dream, and I think I'm proof that she was able to accomplish that.

Why did your family come to the United States? My family came to the United States to have a better life.

What would the U.S. be missing out on if you or your people were banned? The United States would be missing the awesome Nicaraguan food. A staple dish is carne asada, which is skirt steak, served with rice and beans. We also contribute Central American tortillas, queso frito (fried cheese), and maduros (fried sweet plantains). One of my favorite drinks is cacao, which is milk, cinnamon, and cocoa beans. It is amazing. It's like a better version of chocolate milk.
