Why did your family come to the United States? My grandma traveled from Shanghai, China to Burbank, California. As the Communist revolution spread across China, my grandparents were forced to leave due to my grandfather’s American citizenship and work with the Flying Tigers. China was my grandma’s home and the place my grandparents had thought they’d spend the rest of their lives in.

What would the U.S. be missing out on if you or your people were banned? If my grandparents had never been able to move here, the U.S. would have missed out on the chance to hear my dad sing "Winchester Cathedral" into a megaphone when he was in 8th grade. It's an experience now infamous, and frequently recreated, at many a family dinners.
