My mom, little sister, and I drove from Coahuila, Mexico to Virginia in 2002. We got to see a lot of beautiful states during our road trip. My family is made up of strong and resilient women who work hard and who strive to be the best versions of themselves. We were raised to have big dreams, fight for them, and also to be generous and contribute to our community.

Why did your family come to the United States? My dad passed away when I was nine years old. My mom decided we would move to the United States so we could have the opportunity for a better future.

What would the U.S. be missing out on if you or your people were banned? The United States would miss out on our awesome Mexican culture! They would especially miss our delicious food and our community that embraces everyone regardless of their background.
